Water Stoppage in Tainan 12/08 ~ 12/10

Please note there will be water stoppage in Tainan City this coming weekend in most areas. The stoppage will be from 5am on Saturday morning till 4am on Monday morning.

All residents are advised to fill bath tubs or other large containers with water for cleaning & washing purposes.

During any period of water suspension, please turn off the power supply of your water pump to prevent fire hazards.

If the water pump power supply is not switched off:

1. A motor running on empty without pumping water for too long will overheat and cause damage to the motor or even catch on fire.

2. This may create negative pressure in the water supply line and cause it to suck in contaminated water, seriously affecting the hygiene and safety level of the water.

During water suspension periods, it is important to switch off the water control valve in front of the water meter if the building's tap water inlet is below ground level, this is to avoid possible contamination by siphoning from happening.
